WithCrypto was founded with a bold vision: to create systems and processes to bridge the gap between cryptocurrency as a speculative asset, and real-world assets or experiences.
The journey began in 2021, when Ferris Cars, a South African luxury car dealership, made history by pioneering the first ever local sale of a car, a Ferrari California, directly for Bitcoin.
That groundbreaking transaction was followed by many more. Ferris Cars has since sold several high-performance cars, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Porsches, directly in crypto. Each deal confirmed a growing appetite among high-net-worth individuals to use digital wealth for real-world purchases.
It also revealed something bigger: demand was not limited to cars. Clients wanted to transact in real estate, fine art, private jets, gold, luxury travel, and beyond. There was a clear need for a platform dedicated to facilitating immediate, seamless, peer-to-peer, crypto-to-fiat transactions across all high-value assets, products and services.
That realisation gave rise to WithCrypto.
Today, WithCrypto is a juristic representative of CAEP Asset Managers (Pty) Ltd, (FSP No. 33933) for Category I financial services, and has successfully facilitated numerous such transactions, with a 100% succession rate, and an impressive 96% repeat client rate. Tommy Roes
Tommy Roes is the Founder and Managing Director of WithCrypto, where he leads the charge in redefining how digital wealth connects to real-world assets. His journey into crypto-powered transactions began in the automotive world, where he co-owns Ferris Cars, South Africa’s premier independent Ferrari dealership. In 2021, under his leadership, Ferris Cars made history by selling the country’s first Ferrari California in Bitcoin, a landmark transaction that proved cryptocurrency could power secure, high-value acquisitions.
Beyond Ferris, Tommy is also the Managing Director of TCF South Africa (The Car Finders SA), an organisation dedicated to classic and exotic car valuations for collectors and investors. Widely respected as an expert in the classic and exotic car market, he provides specialist valuations for private wealth and insurance clients, and is the chief organiser of the Value in the Classic Car Market (VCCM) Conference, a flagship event for enthusiasts and investors.
These experiences revealed a growing appetite for alternative ways to transact in luxury. After facilitating multiple supercar sales in cryptocurrency, Tommy recognised that the demand extended far beyond cars, into real estate, fine art, private jets, gold, and luxury lifestyle experiences. This insight gave rise to WithCrypto.
